Aaron first got his start via the Raw Comedy competition, where in 2007 on his second attempt, he reached the QLD state finals. From there, he kept performing at local open mic nights in Brisbane, to the eventual career defining moment on viral video ‘stitch-up at work today’, where Gocsy would capture the hearts of the nation with his emphatic blue-collar “bloke next door” persona. The comedian would go on to produce a plethora of other entertaining videos such as ‘Ocean Girl’ and ‘Guy with cornrows eats corn while listening to korn’.
These days, Aaron continues to hone his craft and broaden his horizons, by upholding the same “get up and go” attitude he’s always had.
“To wake up and be able to do what I love every day, is truly is the Australian dream. I’m very grateful for all the opportunities and help that has come my way along my travels. It’s been a tough road, but I think that’s what defines character and makes us who we are. In turn, I’m really looking forward to continuing to work hard and also help people with their journey, as I continue to find my way in this weird and cooked world. As a wise man would always say: ‘It’s a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll.’” - Aaron Gocs 2023
